What is GCF?

GCF exists to reach students with the gospel and equip them for lifelong, public faith in Jesus.

Grizzly Christian Fellowship is a ministry of Sovereign Hope Church, led by and in submission to its elders - but incorporating on campus at the University of Montana as an ASUM student group. While we are convinced that the local church is the primary vehicle for fulfilling Jesus’ great commission, we also believe that college is a uniquely strategic window in an individual’s life. Typically, people determine their most significant priorities and commitments in this 4 (or more) year span of time. We strive to equip this demographic to glorify God with the whole of their lives through our three major “distinctives”. Our on campus efforts are in no way intended to replicate the work of the local church, but rather to act as an evangelistic outpost and auxiliary discipleship training program of and for the church. It is our eager expectation and hope that we will not be ashamed but that with full courage now as always, Christ will be honored in and through the work he’s given us to do on campus at the U of M, in Missoula, the northwest, and to the ends of the earth.

GCF Distinctives

  • Gospel-Captivated
The good news that Jesus did everything required to save sinners and restore us back to God changes everything
  • Word-Centered
God's true, inspired word is the foundation for our lives and ministry
  • Church-Based
Committed to belonging and serving in the local church

Our Church

Not only are we part of the community at the University of Montana, but we are also part of the community at a local church in Missoula.

We gather weekly to worship at Sovereign Hope Church. This allows us to establish relationships with people who are in different stages of life, and equips us for life as part of Jesus’ church post college.
